The PGH Print Ship product type allows LocalGood artists to offer professional, high-quality prints of their work through print-on-demand. Follow these steps to set up your product correctly.
1. Start a New Product
- Log in to your LocalGood artist account.
- Go to Products in your dashboard.
- Click Add New Product.
2. Enter Basic Product Details
- Add a Product Title (name of your artwork).
- Add a Product Short Description (this appears at the top of your product page).
- Add a Full Product Description (optional, for additional details or story behind the work).
- Upload your Main Product Image.
3. Select the Product Type
- Scroll to the Product Data section.
- In the dropdown, select Print Ship (instead of “Simple” or “Variable”).
This will load a new section called Print Ship Product Fields.
4. Complete Print Ship Product Fields
You’ll see three required fields:
- Print Quality High-Res File
- Upload your high-resolution artwork file.
- Requirements:
- Minimum resolution (listed in the instructions).
- File type (e.g., JPG, PNG, TIFF).
- RGB color space.
- A link is provided to Print Ship’s guidelines and our partner Bodega Film Lab for additional details.
- Available Materials
- Choose from the list of print materials (e.g., photo paper, fine art paper, canvas).
- Available Sizes
- Select which sizes your artwork can be sold in.
5. Set Pricing and Sales Options
- In the Sale Price box, enter the amount you want to make for each print.
- Example: If you want to earn $50 per print, enter 50.
- The system will automatically calculate the final price for buyers by adding the cost of materials and size to your amount.
- You can also set a Regular Price if desired (useful for promotional pricing or comparisons).
- Select relevant Categories and Occasions for your product.
⚠️ Important Note on Commissions:
- LocalGood’s commission is based on the sale price you enter (the amount you want to earn).
- This means your commission is calculated only on your portion of the final selling price, not on the added print and material costs. And there are no markups on the print cost.
6. Special Note: Originals or Other Formats
- If you are also selling the original artwork or offering this piece in another form (e.g., framed, digital download), you will need to create a separate listing.
- LocalGood admins can help you duplicate your listing to make this easier.
- To avoid confusion, we recommend updating titles clearly, for example:
- “Autumn Light – Print on Demand”
- “Autumn Light – Original Painting”
7. Submit for Review
- Review your details, file quality, and selections.
- Click Submit for Review.
- LocalGood will check and approve your product before it goes live.
8. Support & Questions
