Pittsburgh, PA – Songbird Artistry, in collaboration with LocalGood, is proud to present “A Flight of Empowerment,” a powerful and evocative art exhibit celebrating the enduring spirit and growth of women. This exhibit will be held at Songbird Artistry and is dedicated to paying homage to the remarkable journey of women, acknowledging both the struggles and triumphs they have faced and continue to overcome.

Throughout history, women have confronted numerous challenges. It wasn’t long ago that they were denied basic rights such as voting or obtaining a credit card in their own names. The battle for equality has been long and arduous, with many women having to fight their way into spaces where they were once unwelcome. A poignant example of this is found within the history of Songbird Artistry’s own family: one of the founders’ aunts graduated from law school, only to be told by a man that he would never hire a woman. Undeterred, she opened her own successful practice, dedicating her life to fighting for the rights of women, children, and others facing discrimination.

As a woman-owned, mother-and-daughters business, Songbird Artistry understands the unique challenges women face, especially in the world of art. Making a living by creating art is not easy, and it can be even more difficult for women. Songbird Artistry feels deeply supported by the local community and believes in the importance of empowering and supporting other artists in their journey to success.

“A Flight of Empowerment” is more than just an art exhibit; it is a celebration of the essence of empowerment. The pieces on display capture the complexities of balancing work and life, honor the legacies of the women who came before us, and encourage and support the women who follow. The exhibit embodies the strength of deep-seated foundations and unwavering determination, much like a sturdy oak tree offering shelter and fortitude.

By coming together, women can foster each other’s growth, uniting in strength to create remarkable transformations. Join us in this empowering celebration and witness the incredible impact when strong women empower women.

The exhibit will feature the work of the following talented artists: Debbie Maier Jacknin, Ally Bartoszewicz, Elizabeth Myers Castonguay, Jen Gallagher, Kayla Kirsch, Kat Kirsch, Lacey Russell, Maria DeSimone Prascak, Stacey Pydynowski, Tori Solomon, and Yafa Schnadower.
