Every day on my way to work I drove down this street and looked at these icons of downtown Wichita. While the view from the street is obvious, I often wondered what the sign would look like from above. A friend worked for the real estate management company that owned the parking garage and took me to the roof one October evening. During the exposure, he painted the sign with light while I hand held a long exposure while leaning over the edge of the parapet around the building. Since I took this photo, both buildings went dark but are now re-developed. The garage is an apartment building and the bus station serves as the office for a local architectural firm.
