The concept of duality: opposing forces, and the emotion that is evoked by harnessing the contrast between them, is a theme that I find myself drawn to in my art and in my life. As a licensed psychotherapist, I am forever exploring the meaning and value of opposites and extremes, and searching for the more grey, realistic tonal range that often exists in the mundanity of everyday life.
In addition to selling ready-to-frame matted images in several sizes, I also offer one-of-a-kind mixed media pieces, postcards, magnets, and notecards.

I fell in love with the smell of Dektol in a high school darkroom 20 years ago and have cultivated my creativity as a photographer since. I was introduced to the art of photography at the end of the era of film photography and helped to usher in the new age of digital exposure while working my first job in high school at a camera shop in the mall. It was here that I learned about the nuanced features of photographic equipment, and how to expose and develop a quality print.
I am grateful to have been brought into the world of photography with the task of learning the science of exposure through the lens, as this helped me to gain a respect and interest in obtaining an exposure through the lens as opposed to obtaining an image via digital manipulation. My favorite exposures are created using available light and experimental exposure to compose an abstract image. I am always in awe of the camera’s ability to transform and elevate what our eyes see into something that is otherwise lost.
In addition to selling ready-to-frame matted images, I also enjoy featuring my images with other media by reusing, restoring or “upcycling” materials that I find locally. This, I feel, allows me to elevate the emotional value of my images, by integrating materials that have lived and have history. I have my old house in its rust belt city of Pittsburgh to thank for this, as it has undoubtedly taught me that the investment of patience and love yields more beauty and wisdom than what can be found in purchasing something new.

I am grateful to have my work featured throughout the past several years in various formats including the cover image for the final printed issue of the Pittsburgh Poetry Review. I have also been a contributing artist in the eighth issue of the After Happy Hour Review, in addition to having been selected to be featured in Nasty Women & Bad Hombres: A Poetry Anthology. I have been an annually contributing artist for the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) art auction at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic since 2016. I currently have work on display at Pittsburgh Pottery in Carnegie, Pennsylvania.
