Abby Bolton Arts

Abby Bolton | Pittsburgh, PA

I am a Pittsburgh-born and -based contemporary painter specializing in soul-inspired fluid acrylic works on canvas. Largely rooted in the dynamic shapes and energy of nature, my art expresses aspects of the ever-changing human experience, particularly growth through self-reflection, spirituality, uncertainty and discovery. My goal is to foster experiential beauty, emotion, and curiosity to engage and uplift the viewer — to celebrate opportunities for joy, connection and light, while honoring our capacity for hope and resilience in the face of struggle, disconnection and darkness. Put simply, I want to “delight the eyes and raise the vibes” with abstracted visual forms that summon basic truths, while leaving space for others to bring their unique interpretations of the work.

I am fascinated by art’s ability to influence our feelings and experiences in an environment, and honored by all opportunities to leverage my art to impact and elevate the places and spaces that shape our lives.

My intuitive process is characterized by vibrant color, dynamic composition, texture and movement, and extensive manual manipulation with palette knives, breath, dotting tools, etc. (though rarely brushes), and embellishment with genuine crystals and mandala-inspired post-pour metallic detailing.

I currently provide the following offerings:

  • Original paintings on canvas and wood panels
  • Unique hand-painted housewares and accessories: These include coasters, trivets, vases, and wooden earrings (mini-art for the ears)
  • Art Prints and printed merchandise: A variety of formats and options are available for the paintings located in my online Prints gallery (abbyboltonsarts.com/prints)
    • From fine art prints on canvas, metal, wood, or paper of any size
    • To items to elevate the everyday, such as ceramic mugs, canvas totes, phone cases, throw pillows, jigsaw puzzles, and ornaments.

Thank you for this opportunity to connect with and support the Pittsburgh arts and fellow artists while expanding the audience for my work.
